What you will be doing

We are looking for volunteers. We need people who can help to set up the room with tables and chairs make and serve refreshments clear tables and wash up. Our volunteers escort members to and from their minibuses and help on outings by pushing wheelchairs. They offer help to people who may need assistance with walking. Volunteers may be required to help disabled people leave the premises in the event of a fire. Sometimes we have outings that need volunteers to help by pushing wheelchairs.

Good listener empathy with people and patience. Enjoy helping others in a friendly atmosphere. Volunteers need to be physically fit mobile and able to carry out the tasks listed.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
