What you will be doing

It would be great if you can sail but if you can't, don't worry, because we can teach you.
We do need help with getting boats rigged and unrigged, fitting clients into buoyancy aids, assisting clients in and out of boats, acting as a crew or skipper on one of our 26 boats which range from 10 - 18 feet and are designed for the disabled.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
