What you will be doing

To help approx 1 day per week, year round, helping to maintain our site.

Duties will include:
" Basic DIY repairs including some simple carpentry
" Painting
" Hedge cutting and chipping garden waste
" Grass cutting and using a strimmer

You will be joining a small team, under the direction of our Site Manager. You will need some experience and a reasonable level of fitness will help as the duties do involve quite a lot of physical work. This role is outdoors.

Skills Description

The volunteer needs to be able to work in a small team under the direction of our Site Manager, preferably with some DIY and garden maintenance experience, and be physically fit, as the duties involve quite a lot of physical work. This role is outdoors. Additionally, corporate groups of up to 12 people are very welcome and tasks are assigned according to group interests.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
