We are looking for friendly and reliable volunteer drivers to join the ERS Car Link team!
Voluntary Norfolk are working with ERS to provide a non-emergency patient transport service to people living in Norfolk.
Every day our Car Link Volunteers support people living in Norfolk to access their essential medical appointments. Using their own vehicle, our volunteers collect passengers from their homes across Norfolk and drive them to their appointments within Norfolk and beyond before returning them safely home - if you were to join the team you would be able to specify where you are happy to travel to.
Some of our passengers might be visiting hospital regularly for treatment and others may be using the service for a rare hospital visit. Attending these appointments can be stressful and difficult so our volunteers not only ensure our passengers get from A to B but are there to provide reassurance and support.
All of the passengers travelling as part of this service must be able to get in and out of a standard car with minimal assistance and can walk short distances.
All expenses are reimbursed and full training and support is provided throughout a volunteer’s time with us.
When and Where?
We are currently recruiting drivers from across Norfolk. To get the most out of volunteering with us we ask that you are able to volunteer for at least half a day per week.
We would appreciate any time you are willing to volunteer but we currently have a particular need for volunteers who would be available in the early morning and/or evening.
We are looking for people who are friendly, patient, reliable and able to support others. To volunteer as a Car Link Driver you must hold a full valid driving licence and own a 4/5 door car which is regularly maintained with valid documentation. As part of the application process we must receive 2 satisfactory references and complete an enhanced DBS.
