Gig Buddies Central matches volunteers with adults with learning disabilities to access their local community and attend cultural activities.

The project empowers adults with learning disabilities to live an active social life. The aim is to bring fun, experiences, and friendship into the lives of adults with learning disabilities in London and improve their quality of life and social interactions whilst promoting independence.

Gig Buddies believes that enjoying music, arts, culture, and social events should be accessible to everyone.

We match volunteers with adults with learning disabilities based on their mutual hobbies and interests so both buddies can enjoy their time together. From bowling and pub outings to coffee chats, gigs, theatre shows, and nights out on the town, our goal is to create friendships through shared interests and experiences.

You don’t need any experience; we think you’ll make a fantastic Gig Buddy if you: - love meeting new people. - are kind, patient and friendly with a good sense of humour.

As a gig buddy, you'll experience: Meaningful Connections: Forge genuine friendships while enjoying events together. Personal Growth: Step out of your comfort zone, gain empathy, and learn new perspectives. Shared Enjoyment: Have fun at concerts and activities while making a positive impact.
