What you will be doing

We are looking for volunteers to join us in our mission to bring joy residents in care settings by running fortnightly sessions at an extra care scheme in Mildmay.

Are you a confident communicator and passionate about arts and culture? We would love to hear from you.

Volunteers will lead a one hour engaging and participatory session discussing works or arts with a group of residents and care staff.

Volunteers will receive training to deliver arts sessions in a care home environment with an engaging, conversation-led approach using our 'Arts at Home' toolkit. Volunteers will be supported throughout the programme and the Art Explora team will guide you through your first sessions.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
