Can you offer a few hours each week to help an adult improve their reading skills? Read Easy North Staffs is a small voluntary organisation, operating in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. We offer free, one-to-one reading coaching to adults who struggle to read. You will receive full training and support and will volunteer at a community venue such as a local library.

Please note that there may be a short waiting list for this role.

You will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.

Admin, Basic IT skills - internet & email, Good IT Skills, Organising & Planning, Reading & Writing

Empathy with adults who struggle to read. Patience. Non-judgemental. No experience in teaching reading is required as full training is given. Available to undertake two 30 minute sessions a week in a local community venue such as a library.

Helping someone less fortunate than yourself. Enjoying their achievements. Full training given and ongoing support available from experts. Travelling expenses payable.

2 x half hour sessions at a local venue, plus preparation. Initial training 2 x 3 hours. Follow up training 2 x 3 hours. Occasional team meetings.
