Respond to requests from computer users regarding hardware, software, or network connection problems or questions
 Resolve problems or provide "how-to" instructions
 Ensure that a regular back-up routine is followed, where implemented.  Ensure that anti-virus software is installed and kept up to date on all CASES endpoints
 Ensure that desktops and laptops are kept up to date with the latest security fixes and updates recommended by the software providers
 Refer the more difficult problems or non-routine requests to the Citizens Advice IT Service Desk or external third-party support as necessary.
 Place service calls with vendors and co-ordinate service for the user  Advise users of the ongoing status of their request when necessary  Review records to maintain the hardware/software inventory (Asset Register) and update service calls.
 Update and revise reference materials and work procedures
 Ensure that all work carried out is documented and clearly understandable  Ensure that software licences are obtained and updated for all software  Coach users in software use
 Monitor the CASES local area networks, identify issues and liaise with third party support as necessary to resolve any problems.
 Advise on purchasing of IT equipment
 Take responsibility for installation and modification of hardware and software
 Arrange the secure disposal of old IT equipment
 Maintain diagnostic tools and online monitoring software.
 React to notifications from online monitoring software and external providers such as Google.

IT, Technology & Websites

Basic IT skills - internet & email, Good IT Skills

Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 7+)  Familiarity with non-Microsoft operating systems such as Chrome and Linux  Knowledge of PC hardware and peripherals  Familiarity with Microsoft Office  Knowledge of PC and network troubleshooting techniques  Knowledge of diagnostic tools and online monitoring software
