Penk Moneywise is a small charity, run entirely by volunteers. We have been giving free face-to-face debt advice for 12 years now. Penk Moneywise comes under the umbrella of the national Christian organisation Community Money Advice (CMA). We are currently experiencing an increase in demand for our services. Therefore we are looking to increase the size of our team of debt advisors. A debt advisor would be expected (after relevant training) to do the following. • Complete CMA debt advisor training • Follow all Penk Moneywise’s procedures and policies at all times • Meet with clients (with a colleague) • Take notes at client meeting when acting alongside another debt advisor • Keep client files up to date – on paper and in computer system • Photocopy correspondence loaned by clients and return originals to clients • Send a Confirmation of Advice to each client • Keep in touch with clients by email or phone • Communicate with creditors – usually by letter or email but occasionally by phone • Produce spreadsheets of clients’ debts • Produce and revise standard financial statements (SFSs) for each client • Advise clients on most appropriate option for resolving their debts • Prepare Debt Relief Order paperwork • Any other actions necessary to help clients reach a solution for their debt problems
