We are a charity focused on Preservation of a local landmark church and spire, its fabric and architecture; visible for miles around and described as Richmond's "Grandest church" by Pevsner (London 2, 1983).

Are you an outgoing, sociable individual. Good Communicator, Ethical, a Team Player? Keen on an active involvement in FUNdraising projects that are enjoyable to do, have community outreach and benefit restoration projects on this key local landmark.

You bring a variety of skills and willing to learn new ones, whether a "techie" Selling, Marketing or Management background. An interest in FUN-projects involving lots of people and a sociable, busy environment at fundraising events.

You ideally have an interest in Heritage and Preservation of old, landmark buildings and local heritage - where our charitable funds are directed!

You'll contribute constructively to trustee meetings, consider the pluses and negative and risk and reward issues identified... You'll be prepared to get involved in sub-committees, help generate new ideas for fundraising projects, and may be prepared to take on other roles including helping with administration roles (or grow-into one such).
You'll encourage friends, contacts and relatives to get involved and help support our working projects, collectively helping to enhance the charity's profile, impact and efficiency.

Can synthesis ideas and view succinctly without excessive jargon, and consider the plusses and negative aspects in a discussion, aiming for a positive solution in trustee discussions, You bring a variety of skills, useful to taking the charity forward and in reaching out in raising funds for the charity and its causes. If you have IT skills, you may be prepared tot take on a more specific Social Media role on the board. You're prepared to get involved in sub-committees and to chair a sub-committee. This may relate to a specific fundraising project or in developing new ideas for projects and investigating viability, You'll be prepared to encourage friends, contacts and relatives to get involved to help at our fundraising events, and in collectively enhancing the charity's profile and impact.

Involvement in fun to do fundraising projects, and sociable activities, incl interaction with public. You'll be a part of a dynamic team that will take the charity forward and help build its resources to enable larger projects to be undertaken on the landmark church building that is our focus. We are not a religious group and welcome people of all faiths and none and all diversity. We are independent of the church and make our own decisions regarding investments. You are a key member of the executive management team. Decisions are by a collective majority, ideally unanimously made.

4 main board meetings a year. Plus any assigned sub-committee involvements. There may be some preparatory reading of notes and board papers ahead of meetings and discussions as required on topics.

Volunteer Centre  Support you will receive

We'd arrange meetings where disabled access is possible if required. However, for projects, we really need able-bodied people to help with set-up process, operations during the day and take-down / pack-up at the end of the day. Volunteers at fundraising events who require disabled access can be accommodated and found suitable roles on the stall.

Volunteer Centre  Covid Safe

At fundraising events, we ensure safe hygiene and handling conditions apply - all involved in handling meat/food items wear hygienic gloves and change then regularly during the day. We protect against Covid or illness by requesting all volunteers/= & trustees are honest and keep away in event they are infected / ill. For trustee meetings, we ensure the meeting area is cleaned and that there are clean toilet facilities available.
