Arthros is looking for a trustee with previous experience of Arthritis , and clinical skills (e.g. nurse/ physiotherapist / occupational therapist/ GP or similar NHS experience and skills), to help Arthros deliver our grants programme. Arthros' Grants aim to fund aids and appliances which are not available through statutory NHS or local authority services , and will enable local Reading residents living with Arthritis towards more independent lives .
This voluntary role will be mainly working from home with monthly evening meetings;- on-line midweek for Trustees , and quarterly face to face meetings on a Saturday at a central location in Reading.

Basic IT skills - internet & email, Evaluating & Reviewing, Managing People, Organising & Planning

Previous NHS / similar experience and understanding of the impact of Arthritis on the lives of sufferers. Good communication , interpersonal skills , and digital skills while also being methodical and organised . This role involves joining a rota of trustees to take turns in reviewing and assessing applications for grants to fund aids and appliances that will help the applicant living with Arthritis. Good teamwork skills are essential to work as part of the Arthros team to deliver help to those in need .

The knowledge that you will be making an immediate and real difference in the lives of those living with all types Arthritis, through helping fund the aids and appliances that enable local residents with Arthritis to be more independent . You will have the opportunity to build on your skills and experience as part of the Arthros team.

This trustee role covers the Reading / Greater Reading / Wokingham area only and will mainly be working from home, with quarterly meetings in central Reading .

This role is hybrid- with both remote working and monthly meetings on-line , and quarterly meetings face to face in central Reading . Arthros covers the Reading area including Wokingham , see postcode as below .This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

The Charity's face to face meetings are 4 times a year , and at a central Reading venue which is accessible for wheel chairs. In between these dates meetings are monthly , on- line via MS Teams , monthly , usually mid- week .
