Do you live in London, do you care about the health and wellbeing of communities in your area, looking for a flexible volunteering role? Then this could be for you!

Gambling impacts over a million people in the Greater London area. Gamcare being the leading national provider of free information, advice and support for anyone affected by problem gambling provides this quickly when someone accesses our services. We also operate the National Helpline, providing structured support for anyone in Greater London who is harmed by gambling.
We are looking for ambassadors to help raise awareness and make a difference within local communities.

This is a flexible role, where you will be able to showcase your people skills by attending events across your local area and beyond sharing information regarding gambling and gambling harms. You choose what events you would like to attend with us, but the role will also include focus groups, completing surveys and encouraging others to do the same.

Activities will include:
- Leafleting to promote upcoming events.
- Attending wellbeing events and fairs: Talking with the public about the themes around gambling and gambling harms, which include debt and mental health.
Please note that some of these events may be at short notice.

• Regular interaction with GamCare groups
• Sessions with other Community ambassadors
• Sharing messages with communities in different ways
Tasks and responsibilities:
• Receive regular updates on the latest key messages, guidance and information from trusted sources.
• Sharing key health messages in different ways including social media.
• Support families, friends and the wider community to remain informed and up to date on the latest developments.
• Engage with communities across local boroughs which include people with disabilities, older people, younger people; Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, to help people make informed decisions around gambling and gambling harms.
• Supporting community engagement activities to talk with people about gambling and gambling harms.
• Feedback any local issues or concerns relating to gambling and gambling harms.
You will be provided with merchandise to help you facilitate your role. Training dates will be sent over once you have registered interest in the role.

We welcome applications from marginalised or under-represented communities who are bi-lingual to act as a link into their community.
