Gig Buddies Central matches volunteers with adults with learning disabilities to access their local community and attend cultural activities.

The project empowers adults with learning disabilities to live an active social life. The aim is to bring fun, experiences, and friendship into the lives of adults with learning disabilities in London and improve their quality of life and social interactions whilst promoting independence.

Gig Buddies believes that enjoying music, arts, culture, and social events should be accessible to everyone.

We match volunteers with adults with learning disabilities based on their mutual hobbies and interests so both buddies can enjoy their time together. From bowling and pub outings to coffee chats, gigs, theatre shows, and nights out on the town, our goal is to create friendships through shared interests and experiences.

We have a regular onboarding of volunteers and provide training, a DBS check, and ongoing support.

At Gig Buddies Central, we are committed to promoting independence and personal growth. We believe individuals with learning disabilities should be able to make their own choices, explore their interests, and become active participants in their communities.
