What you will be doing

To be one of a team of volunteers led by the Café Manager to provide refreshments for visitors and volunteers.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks
• Preparing and serving snacks
• Keeping the serving counter and kitchen preparation areas clean
• Cleaning and clearing away café tables.

Vacancies for café staff exist for all occasions when the Museum is open to the public. This may be on a Tuesday (the one day a week the Museum routinely opens to the public) and/or a on family open day/special event of which there
are around one a month at the moment. Volunteers are needed for Tuesdays, or Sundays or both days. The Museum is usually open 10am-4pm. Volunteers may prefer to attend for all or part of an opening day (minimum commitment 2 hours).

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
