What you will be doing

Sea Cadets Volunteers aim to support and learn young people in the area ages 10 -18 on the basis of royal naval traditions.

We offer a wide range of life skills and fun activities. Please register your interest in the volunteer role and we can arrange a visit to our unit.

What is in it for you

Cadets offer adult training and waterborne courses. There is also opportunities for international exchanges and offshore voyages as an adult support instructor.

Time Commitment

Wednesday (7pm-9pm) Sundays (10.30am -1pm) Summer months we attend mid-week boating - Tuesday (6pm -8.30pm) There will be occasionally evening and weekend events.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
