What you will be doing

Driver over 25years, clean driving license. Driving for over 12 months
Can driver a manual or automatic .
Hold a D1 license or be willing to take a D1 driving test.
Hours : 12 hours ( 4 days @2 x 1.5 hour shifts)
AM ( start 8.30) Pick up from service users home take them to the day Centre ( Riverwood) and return them home ( start 2.45 PM ).
Perform daily safety checks on the vehicle ( tyre pressure, oil, water, fuel.
Keep vehicle clean inside and out.

Skills Description

Understanding of Persons with Learning Disabilities, Good at communication, Reading directions, Observant and a good listener. Patience.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
