Leader or unit helper volunteer - Girlguiding Jersey

Girlguiding Jersey

Girlguiding Jersey is looking for leaders and unit helpers to work within a leadership team to help run groups of Rainbows (age 5-7), Brownies (age 7-10), Guides (age10-14) and the Senior Section (age 14+).
Most units meet weekly during term time to give girls the opportunities for fun, friendship, challenge and adventure.
Volunteers will work within a team to make the most of the skills you are able to give. These include:
Providing a safe girl-only space where girls can discover their full potential.
Provide ongoing support to members of the unit.
Take an active role in creating and delivering an accessible and inclusive programme for your section.
Encourage and support the members of the unit in making decisions within the unit and wider Girlguiding community.
Develop and maintain clear communication with the unit leader and other members of the leadership team.
Maintain clear communication with parents and carers.
Be willing to participate in any relevant 'on-the-job' training for the role.
Comply with current Girlguiding policies and regulations.

Youth Work

Art & Craft, Basic IT skills - internet & email, Organising & Planning, Reading & Writing

Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. With the support of our volunteer leaders we are able to offer girls and young women a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their lives and communities. Once attached to a unit you will receive 'on the job' learning and development. Training will be offered where necessary and there will be support and guidance from fellow volunteers.
