Skool's Out (school holidays)

Skool's Out activity days are for young people with a high level of additional need. These are full days (8:30 - 16:30 TBC) of fun, inclusive, creative and empowering activities led by experienced staff and supported by volunteers.
If you want to spend some of your free time making a difference while having fun & meeting new people then Skool's out is for you.
Summer activity scheme runs for 4 weeks at the start of the summer holidays
Easter activity scheme runs for 4-5 days depending on Bank Holidays
Half-term activity scheme, which run for 3 days, each half term

Art & Design,Befriending, Buddying & Mentoring,Caring,Teaching & Training,Youth Work,Music,Sport & Coaching,Support Work,Under 16 Volunteering

Art & Craft, Cleaning & Tidying, Creative & Design

Experience with disabled children/children useful but not essential. Enthusiasm, patience, empathy and good listening/communication skills. We do offer training which will help in the knowledge and understanding of many skills. Also if you have any special interests or talents that you could bring to BDCPS we would also love to hear from you! This could be something in the arts, sports, cookery, outdoor activities or anything else! Must be 13 or over.

Training; supervision; induction; development of skills; making new friends/meeting new people; lots of fun; challenging; new experiences and days out. It will look excellent for your CV and university/job prospects as it will make you stand out from the crowd!

Skool's Out is based in Ridgeway school so level access, toilets, hoists etc are already there. Information can be provided in a variety of formats. If you need something that we are not already doing just let us know.

PPE is available at all sessions, and training is provided. LFT tests are required of those who are able to take them. Government guidelines are followed. Our Covid safe policy and actions are regularly reviewed to ensure good practice and safety.
