Have you overcome challenges in life and want to use your experience to inspire others? We’re recruiting Peer Mentors with lived experience to support people on probation in the community or preparing for release from prison.

As a Peer Mentor, you’ll:

✨ Walk alongside Service Users (SUs) to appointments and community activities

✨ Provide encouragement and advocacy to those at risk of disengaging

✨ Coach and mentor SUs to build confidence, motivation, and self-belief

✨ Support positive reintegration through tailored activities (e.g., gym sessions, volunteering, places of worship)

✨ Empower people to move away from negative influences and create brighter futures

Volunteer Centre  Support you will receive

We offer flexible, person-centred support tailored to each volunteer's individual needs. This includes: accessible meeting rooms, flexible session times, telephone/online options if travel is difficult, adjustable workloads, additional support from staff, and reasonable adjustments agreed on an ongoing basis. We actively encourage volunteers to tell us what works for them and adapt accordingly.

We provide tailored support, reasonable adjustments, and a non-judgemental environment to ensure everyone can volunteer with confidence. We also support people with disabilities, additional needs, and those from all backgrounds and communities.

Venues are well-ventilated, hand sanitiser is available, and we respect personal choices around masking and social distancing. We offer hybrid options — in-person, telephone, or online — so volunteers can choose what feels safest for them. We keep updated with the latest guidance and review our practices regularly.
