Volunteer Cub Leader / Cub Helper

When: Wednesday evenings during term time

Where: St Joseph’s Scout Group, Luton

Are you looking for a rewarding way to give back to your local community? We are looking for enthusiastic adults to join our Cub Scout team and help deliver fun, adventure, and skills for life to young people aged 8 to 10½.

As a Cub Leader or Helper, you’ll support weekly meetings by helping to run games, activities, challenges, and outdoor adventures. No previous Scouting experience is needed. Full training and support will be provided.

What you’ll do:

• Help deliver engaging weekly activities and games
• Support young people in learning new skills and building confidence
• Assist with camps, day trips, and special events (if you’d like to)
• Encourage teamwork, friendship, and personal development
• Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment

What we’re looking for:

• Friendly and reliable adults aged 18+
• Enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A desire to make a positive difference in young people’s lives

Skills and qualities for a Cub Scout Leader / Helper • Friendly and approachable manner • Ability to work well in a team • Good communication with children and adults • Enthusiasm and willingness to get involved • Confidence to support and encourage young people • Reliability and commitment to Wednesday evenings • Creativity for games, activities, and challenges • Patience and a positive attitude • Willingness to learn new skills through training and Scouting support
