NHS - Newborn Hearing Screening Volunteer

East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust

You did not enter a postcode in the search, or the postcode for this role is unknown.

Our Newborn Hearing Screening Service screens infants in the first four weeks of life to ensure early detection of mild, moderate, severe and profound permanent childhood hearing impairment. This is a national screening programme which aims to find out about any issues early so we can give children a better chance to develop their language, speech, and communication skills.

The majority of babies are screened prior to discharge from hospital after birth. If this is not the case, or if babies are born at home, an appointment is offered at our community clinics.

This volunteer role will support the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme on the maternity / neonatal units of Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, collecting feedback about the experience of families whose babies have undergone hearing screening.
