• Currently enrolled in a recognised counselling qualification (minimum Level 4 Diploma or equivalent).
• Reliable and committed to completing each clients 6-12 sessions

• Assess clients for counselling support
• Offer one-to-one counselling sessions to patients, family members, or carers under clinical supervision
• Each client will have between 6-12 sessions depending on their situation
• Support individuals coping with grief, loss, and end-of-life issues.
• Must be able to work independently to manage both their clients and workload and be a team player too
• Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with hospice policies and ethical standards.
• Attend regular clinical supervision and reflective practice sessions.
• Participate in hospice training, team meetings, and debriefs.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure good care.
• Adhere to safeguarding, confidentiality, and ethical guidelines at all times.
• Provide feedback, including any adverse effects, to the patient’s nurse and line manager.
• Participate in supervision with the line manager.
• Respect the confidentiality of any information held in relation to past or present patients, staff and administration of the hospice
• Must not offer advice or therapy outside the remit of qualifications and training
• Update/complete required documentation either written or on the computer
• Contribute to discussions and attend meetings
