Better Bones for Luton Support Group Volunteer

Your activities will vary, but may include:
-Coordinating monthly or bi‑monthly meetings with fellow volunteers and the Better Bones for Luton Coordinator.
-Welcoming new attendees and helping them settle in
-Sharing meeting details with local networks and distributing up-to-date leaflets at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital.
-Emailing the network about meetings and events, and helping manage the group inbox.
-Sending attendance updates, photos, and stories for the volunteer newsletter.
-Following ROS policies, keeping risk assessments current, and sharing accurate information.

A detailed knowledge of osteoporosis isn’t needed — just enthusiasm for supporting the charity’s work. Helpful qualities include: -Friendly communication skills -Basic IT confidence. -Teamwork -Empathy for people affected by osteoporosis. -Good listener. -Confidence to participate in group meetings, -Good organisation, and ability to meet deadlines.

-Free honorary ROS membership (worth £36 per year) -Full induction, ongoing support from the charity, and access to the 2026 volunteer recognition programme.

CURRENT VENUE: BUSHMEAD COMMUNITY CENTRE, LUTON Meetings currently run monthly after the HealthyLuton Bone Health Workshops at Bushmead Community Centre. Volunteers coordinate locally with the Better Bones for Luton Coordinator and one another.
