Sewing for charity - making reusable pads for people experiencing period poverty around the world

Anyone with some spare time and access to a sewing machine can get involved. Our volunteers sew from home or in self-organised friendship groups. It is a zero-commitment role with volunteers coming and going, staying long term or using us as a one-off vounteering opportunity. One pack of eight pads will take someone out of period poverty for at least five years - keeping girls in school and restoring dignity to all. We provide all the instructions and templates and can provide fabric on request. The pads are easy to make and we have a supportive, friendly Facebook Group where volunteers share tips. All pads are acknowledged by email with volunteers kept up to date on where there pads are heading. A quarterly newsletter provides detailed project updates.

A zero-commitment role that you can give as much time and attention as works for you. Join a wonderful community of generous, kind and supportive members of the Pachamama community who share tips and resources via the private Facebook Group, some of whom have set up groups for sewing together. Receive regular updates about where your pads are going and the impact they are having on the beneficiaries.

Zero-commitment. Some volunteers make zillions. Some make a few then stop. Some come and go around other commitments or health issues.
