Are you passionate about youth, community, and social impact?

As a growing social enterprise, 4YP supports young people across Bedfordshire through youth work, mentoring, and careers guidance. Behind the scenes, our Advisory Board plays a vital role in helping us stay accountable, strategic, and aligned with our mission.

We’re now looking to expand our Advisory Board with both:
• Advisory Board Members
• Non-Executive Directors

You’ll bring your professional experience to a diverse group of volunteers who meet quarterly (evenings) and offer ad hoc support to the Director as needed.

🧠 What You’ll Do:
• Provide strategic oversight and guidance
• Support the Director in shaping 4YP’s direction and impact
• Offer sector knowledge, insight, and constructive challenge
• Ensure transparency and accountability in how we work

🕒 Time Commitment:
• Four evening board meetings per year
• Occasional additional meetings or phone calls as needed

Whether your background is in education, youth services, safeguarding, finance, HR, communications, or another relevant area — we’d love to hear from you.

We want to build a diverse board, with members from all ages and backgrounds. We are specifically interested in individuals who have a background in Youth Services, Finance, Legal, HR, Communications or Health and Safety backgrounds, or from any background who can help with strategic insight and planning. But if our organisation resonates with you, then please do get in touch, even if only for an informal chat.

Being a voluntary board member allows you to use the skills you have developed in your career to help manage and protect a small, local not-for-profit organisation. It is a chance to give back to your community, add new skills to your repertoire and increase your network. And this role specifically will give you the opportunity to help shape the provision of youth services in Bedfordshire.

4 board meetings per year (evenings) as well as sub-group meetings (as required) and availability for telephone calls in between meetings.

Further location details may be provided below.
