We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Mentor to support and guide young individuals in their personal and educational development. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong commitment to fostering positive relationships. As a Youth Mentor, you will play a crucial role in helping young people navigate challenges, set goals, and achieve their potential.

Duties

• Provide one-on-one mentoring to youth, offering guidance and support in various aspects of their lives.
• Develop and implement engaging educational activities tailored to the interests and needs of the youth.
• Create a safe and inclusive environment where young people feel comfortable expressing themselves.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the youth's development.
• Monitor and evaluate the progress of each mentee, providing feedback and encouragement.
• Assist in addressing behavioural or academic challenges through tailored strategies.
• Promote positive social skills and emotional well-being through structured activities.

Administration,Befriending, Buddying & Mentoring,Community Work,Teaching & Training,Youth Work

Admin, Evaluating & Reviewing, Good IT Skills, Managing People

• Proven experience working with children or in youth work settings is essential. • Background in special education or related fields is desirable. • Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and inspire young individuals. • Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in mentoring youth from diverse backgrounds. • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated. • Flexibility to adapt mentoring approaches based on individual needs.

We request a minimum commitment of 2 hours per week for mentoring sessions. An additional 30 minutes - 1 hour per week is required to complete administrative tasks etc.
