Independent Appeal Panels are made up of three individuals. Together the panels hear evidence from the school and the parents making applications. Our Panel Members work to ensure that the parents have a fair and independent hearing, have been given the opportunity to put their case forward and that the points they have made have been taken in account and carefully considered. The Panel deal with appeals competently, fairly and within the law. They are mindful that the information being considered is confidential and sensitive.

This role can be incredibly rewarding as it allows families an opportunity to have their views examined and heard in detail and you are contributing to the administration of this. People have found that it assists with their evaluation and reviewing skills as well as working as part of a team as you have to consider with your colleagues on the Panel the evidence presented in each case.

we ask that you are able to commit at least one day per month. In high season (May to July) there may be the time where panel will need to hear cases over the course of 3 days in a week. If you were to take part in such a hearing there would not be the expectation for you to take part in the following months unless you wish to do so.
