GoodGym is a community of people who get fit by doing good, walking running and cycling to volunteer opportunities around town.

TaskForce are volunteer co-ordinators within Goodgym who give a little extra time to help setup and support sessions and build community.

As a TaskForce member you will:

Organise and support sessions helping community projects.
Welcome and invite new people into GoodGym
Create reports for the website, social media and press.
Build relationships with projects and community groups.
Organise fitness sessions such as runs, walks and rides.
Arrange social events and collaborations

Befriending, Buddying & Mentoring,Community Work,Gardening,Marketing, PR & Media,Practical Work & DIY,Environmental,Sport & Coaching,Volunteer Management,Employee & Group Volunteering,General & Helping

Basic IT skills - internet & email, Managing People, Organising & Planning, Research

You will be part of a team of Taskforce members, supporting each other to ensure regular weekly Goodgym sessions are available to sign-up to. So good communication and a collaborative approach are required. The role may involve reaching out to community groups, explaining the opportunity to work with Goodgym and the benefits it can bring, negotiating a task for local Goodgym members to tackle and setting the time and place. Communicating the task to the Goodgym members, encouraging attendance, and ideally attending the session as a leader to provide continuity and oversight requires good management and

It's a great opportunity to engage yourself in your local community, meet people and build support for projects you care about. You will learn and practice important transferable skills including community building, tech, and volunteer management. Build your CV and connect with many projects and organisations.

Highly flexible and you can give as much time as you want to. The suggested minimum is contributing to a session every 6-8 weeks, whether by organising or supporting a session.

The role is a virtual one and can be completed from home. Some sessions may be suitable for volunteers with disabilites and access requirements and attendance in person will be possible. The volunteer will be able to help organise sessions that are accessible.
