What Does a Trustee Do?
As a trustee, you’ll help with:
Supporting the Pre-School staff with the smooth running of the charity.
Support the Pre-School to achieve its goals.
Organising fundraising activities to provide new resources for the children.
Promoting the pre-school to the wider community.

Key Information for Trustees
Commitment: Trustees are elected annually and meet each half term, a date which is determined by the trustees.
Requirements: You’ll need an enhanced DBS check.
Volunteer Role: This is an unpaid position, but the personal rewards are invaluable.
Who Can Apply: You don’t need to be a parent with a child at the preschool—anyone committed to supporting early education is encouraged to get involved.

Fundraising,Trusteeships & Committees

Required: Enthusiasm and passion for supporting early years education Ability to attend meetings once per half term Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check Commitment to working as part of a team Desirable (but not essential - full support provided): Any experience in fundraising, education, business, or community work Basic computer skills for emails and documents Interest in getting involved with community events We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experience levels. This role is perfect for both those starting their volunteering journey and those with existing skills to share. Full guidance and support will be provided to help you develop in the role.

Time Commitment: Board meetings held once per half term (6 meetings per year) Meetings typically last 1 hours Meetings are scheduled at times that suit the majority of trustees - trustees organise the meetings Some occasional email communication between meetings Optional attendance at pre-school events throughout the year Additional time may be needed if you choose to lead specific projects or fundraising activities Flexible approach - we understand trustees have work and family commitments Annual commitment, with option to continue if you wish DBS check process (we'll support you with this) We aim to make the role manageable for busy people while ensuring the pre-school gets the support it needs. You can choose how much additional involvement you'd like beyond the core meetings, making this an adaptable role that works around your other commitments.
