The Toy Library is open on a Friday during term time. It is based in the Child Development Centre (CDC), Kempston and run by Embrace. It is a collection of specialist toys for families in Bedfordshire to borrow. The items include a wide variety of play and sensory experiences. The role includes cleaning and checking the toys. Preparing and issuing requests. Maintaining the catalogue.

Administration,Caring,Driving (must have full driving licence),General & Helping

Admin, Basic IT skills - internet & email, Cleaning & Tidying, UK Driving Licence

A people person who loves play. Knowledge of additional needs and disability within a family setting would be an advantage. Organised and methodical.

The joy of seeing those big smiles a new toy can bring. Enabling families to try out toys before perhaps buying as their child develops, thus helping to save unused purchases both financially and environmentally. Meeting people.

Approx. 3 hours per Friday - term time only

Volunteer Centre  Covid Safe

PPE is available at all sessions, and training is provided. LFT tests are required of those who are able to take them. Government guidelines are followed. Our Covid safe policy and actions are regularly reviewed to ensure good practice and safety.
