What you will be doing

Volunteer Events Facilitator.
We are looking for volunteers to work alongside our Event Coordinator to support up to 6 bi-monthly Events and Outings per year. Examples include day-trips to the seaside, to the zoo, and other places and evening events like our Christmas meal, Quizzes and Bingo.

• Your gift of time, skills and experience will be used well so that you can make a difference to the lives of disabled adults in the Bedford area.
• You will be provided with all the information and guidance required for you to carry out your volunteering.
• You will be encouraged to develop in your volunteering role.
• FLAG will reimburse you for any out-of-pocket expenses your volunteering incurs.
• You will be protected by FLAG's insurance policies.
• You will volunteer in conditions that are safe and healthy.
• Your volunteering will be appreciated and recognised.
• You will volunteer in a non-discriminatory organisation that aims to be more diverse.
• FLAG will help you to resolve any difficulties you may have with the organisation or your volunteering.

Skills Description

• A driving licence is not essential but would be useful. • Friendly and helpful. • Supporting disabled adults with non-personal help at Events. • e.g. Push their wheelchair, get their drink from the bar, help carry shopping, finding them a seat, escorting around on day-trips. • Members requiring that bit more help bring their own personal carers so you will never be asked to do any personal care.

Time Commitment
