What you will be doing

This volunteer role contributes to promoting the positive work of the Greensand Trust and its partners in the local area.

You will
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information for visitors to the area.
- Hand out printed information and dealing with face-to-face queries.
- Promote upcoming events/activities.
- Litter pick around the Visitor Centre and ensure it is kept tidy.
- Rota check all public areas of the Visitor Centre to ensure clean and tidy.
- Sell items from the Retail area and take payment for car & cycle permits.
- Report any issues/feedback to staff contact.

Skills Description

Friendly, enthusiastic and welcoming personality. Able to talk to a wide range of different people. Have a love of wildlife and wild things. Numeracy skills. Ability to work within a team and alone. Experience of working with the public and ability to handle confrontation. Flexibility and reliability.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
