Warden Volunteer

To create a better nature reserve for people and wildlife by assisting Rangers to patrol and maintain Greensand Trust Sites;
- Check Bridleways and permissive cycle path paths and safe un-adopted routes for dangerous path surfaces/erosion, overgrown vegetation, dangerous or fallen trees and litter. Report to GST Warden/Ranger.
- Monitor Signage damage or defacing. Report to GST Warden/Ranger.
- Litter picking.
- Occasionally support planned Working Parties to manage cycle paths and SSSI scrub management.
- Report to Warden/Ranger any incident or event that could cause visitor dissatisfaction.
- Report any commercial activity in the woods to the Ranger/Warden.
- Any use of cycle paths by horses should be reported to the Ranger/Warden.
Volunteers are supported through Greensand Trust procedures, regular contact with Ranger/Warden, and basic first aid training.

- Mature, responsible attitude. - Physically fit. - Basic First Aid. - Experience of working outdoors in all weathers. - The ability to work independently. - An interest in wildlife/the outdoors is desirable. - Able to share interest and enthusiasm
