Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations. We give them the chance to discover their full potential and encourage them to be a powerful force for good. We give them a space to have fun.
As treasurer, you will need to keep accurate financail records for the area knows as a District or Division. Together with the youth group leaders who are part of the area you will be part of the team that is responsible for deciding how funds will be raised and spent. Your job is to keep accounts, report to back to the team on its financial position and prepare end-of-year accounts for independent examination. This role will involve two to three hours work per month and you will need to maintain relevant bank account(s), keeping up to date with any correspondence with the bank on behalf of the organisation.
This role is perfect for you if you are:
• Not able to give time every week
• Want to help out at a time to suit you.
• Keen to share a specialist skill
Once you have expressed an interest in this role a current volunteer will contact you for a chat and to answer any questions. then we will ask you to register on our volunteer membership system.

Ideally volunteers for this role should have: - Excellent numeracy skills. - Experience of book-keeping or financial procedures - High level of organisation and ability to work on own initiative. - Attention to detail and accuracy. - Ability to work as part of a team. Experience of book-keeping or financial procedures would be helpful, but is not essential as this can be developed as part of the role. Personal qualities - An open and approachable manner. - A high degree of personal integrity. - A commitment to ongoing personal development. Our treasurers must be aged over 18. No formal qualifications or prior guiding experience are required to volunteer with us. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and abilities.
