Citizens Advice Bedford are looking for Volunteer Advisers to join our friendly team to help provide advice and information to the people of Bedford Borough.

The role involves providing advice and information to clients problems mainly via two or more of the following - face to face, telephone and email. We would like applicants to be:

-IT proficient (Word & Internet Browsing)
-Non-Judgemental and approachable
-Be aged 18+

When trained you could be providing information to clients on all types of advice and information regarding a huge range of topics including housing, debt, relationships, benefits and more.

Volunteers will be fully supported at all times. Training and volunteering can be completed mainly from home.

If you can reliably commit at least 8 hours week (this can be split between 2 days if you wish) and would like more information we would love to hear from you!

What do you need to have? You don’t need specific qualifications or skills but you’ll need to: ● Be friendly and approachable ● Be non-judgmental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own ● Have good listening skills ● Have excellent verbal and written communication skills ● Have good IT skills ● Be able to understand information and explain it to others ● Be willing to undertake training in your role

We ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months and 6 hours per week.
